The Good Samaritan
Production: Unidentified Delft factory
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in greyish-blue. Circular with a wide rim, and shallow well. The well is painted with the Good Samaritan in a landscape. On the rim there are vine branches tied with ribbons, and a scroll inscribed, 'IA ANNO 1680'.
History note: Unknown before Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
