Description

Buff earthenware tin-glazed and painted in blue. The flower holder has a flat back with a shaped top, pierced by a suspension hole. The lower part of the front is hemi-spherical with a projecting fin at centre. The domed top is pierced by a large semi-circular hole and seven small holes to take flower stems. The lower part of the front is decorated with flowering sprays, and the top with groups of grasses of graduated lengths. The reverse has a line running round the edge enclosing a bird perching amidst foliage within an outline. The underside is painted with a S.
