Production: Unidentified Liverpool pottery
Tin-glazed earthenware painted n bue with two cocks in an Oriental garden
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed bluish-white and painted in blue, and a little red. Circular with a flat rim, sloping sides and flat centre with recessed base. The well is decorated with a cock in an Oriental garden with rocks and a flowering tree. The sides of the well are decorated withalternating panels enclosing diaper or an artemesia leaf. On the rim there are four floral sprays and a narrow border ensuite with that on the sides but smaller. The rim is encircled by a red band. On the reverse there is a circle in the centre and one outisde the edge of the base.
