Production: Unidentified Delft factory
Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue, green, yellow with manganese-purple outlines. The jug has a bulbous body, a wide neck, and a loop handle. The front is decorated with a half-figure of William III crowned flanked by tulips, and the initials "K W" for Koning Willem, On each side there is a bird and a spray.
History note: Bought by the vendor at Launceston for about £5.13s.; Mr Dando, 18 York Street Bath, from whom purchased for £6.10s. 0d. in January 1915 (arrived in Cambridge on 12 January) by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
