Pottery: Unknown
Grey stoneware tea caddy of KATATSUKI (square-shouldered) form with everted rim. Incised ring just above mid-height. Initial (diagonal) dip of top in Tenmoku glaze, followed by dip in transparent glaze. NAMAKO (sea slug) effect. On one side, possibly wood-ash deposition in firing. The cover is in two parts; the top is deteriorated and warped ivory, the plug part of wood.
