Description

Earthenware figure of a little boy seated on a recumbent goat, tin-glazed and painted in green, yellow, and manganese-purple

Buff earthenware, moulded, tin-glazed, bluish-white, and painted in green, yellow, and manganese-purple. The glaze on the underside is uneven round the edge. The goat is seated on a rectangular base which has rounded corners, and wavy sides, and is hollow underneath. The boy is seated sideways on the goat with his left arm extended to the side, his right rests across his body, and his right foot is crossed over his left. The base and the boy's jacket are green. The goat's horns are yellow. The boy's cap, his features, his shoes are manganese-purple. The goat's head and body are dappled with manganese-purple.
