Tin-glazed earthenware painted in enamels with flowers
Tin-glazed earthenware painted overglaze in blue, green, yellow, pink, dull red, and brown enamels. The inverted pear-shaped pot has a loop handle in the form of a twigs, and a slightly curved almost horizontal spout. The small circular cover is slightly domed and has an open flower knob. Both sides of the pot and the cover are painted with sprays of Oriental style flowers.
History note: Mr Dreyfus, dealer, Geneva, from whom bought for 35 francs on 22 February 1904 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
