Fritware painted in polychrome under a colourless glaze
Fritware, probably mould made, painted in red, blue, green and black under a colourless glaze
Shape: pear shaped body with slightly flared neck sitting on an out-turned foot ring. A strap handle, attached below the rim and on the shoulder, has a lower finger rest.
Exterior: below the rim a narrow frieze of black scrolls is reserved in green. On the neck and body, polychrome flowers are contained within scalloped oval cartouches painted on a blue background (that has run slightly into surrounding white) adorned with further flowers. On the shoulder, a frieze of black dashes and is painted above green and blue lappets. On the lower body, scrolling and concentric black lines are painted, while horizontal and vertical lines are painted on the handle. The glaze covers the surface except for the rim of the foot ring.
Interior: glazed but otherwise undecorated.
