Hard-paste porcelain painted in enamels and gilt
Hard-paste porcelain, moulded, and painted overglaze in blue, green, yellow, pink, flesh-pink, pale mauve, a little red, shades of brown, grey, and black enamels, and gilt; the base is open and the interior of the base and figure is glazed.
The base is in the form of a circular bank of clouds which rise up in the centre. Juno is seated with her right foot crossed over her left in front of the base. She has a ruddy cheeks, red lips, and slanting brown eyebrows. Her brown hair is piled up on top at the front, and hangs down her back from a white knot. She wears a pale mauve frontlet decorated with green jewel flanked by strings of white and gold beads. She is nude apart from a yellow and pink drape which is suspended from her shoulders at the back by a white strap with gold beading and a green and gold jewel at centre front. The yellow part of the drape is decorated with groups of four gold spots. She holds a gold sceptre in her right hand and holds her bent left arm up at waist level. A peacock with its tail closed is perched on the clouds on her left.
