Factory: Ferniani Factory
Earthenware. Tin-glazed greyish-white overall. The glaze has crawled from the edge of the base in three places. Painted in blue, green, yellow, orange-red, brown, and manganese-purple.
Circular, with shallow concave sides and slightly recessed base.
An urn filled with flowers, the base of a rectangular column, a flying bird, a flowering tree, foliage, and lawn. The rim is encircled by a border of five oblong panels of purple trellis diaper, alternating with panels containing three flowers separated by leaves.
History note: Leone Dalla Torre, 355 Piazzetta dei Leoni, Venice, from whom purchased in October 1903 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher (Typed Cat. 1899).
