Grey-white stoneware mug with applied reliefs on blue slip ground, glazed.

Large, cylindrical, straight-sided mug having ear-shaped stap handle with inward and outward spurs. On the outside a turned band of white at top and bottom framing a blue-slipped ground. Opposite the handle a caduceus (a short staff entwined by two serpents, surmounted by wings) above clasped hands and two cornucopiae over a label inscribed ‘PEACE & PLENTY’. To the right is a bust of Wellington over a label inscribed ‘WELLINGTON’, and on the left a bust of Blucher over a label inscribed ‘BLUCHER’. The inscriptions are impressed and coloured black.
