Production: Unidentified Orvieto pottery (Probably)
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides and painted in blue, yellow and orange; the copper-green on the handle may be accidental. Curved section of rim and side of the bowl with a horizontal loop handle on the exterior.
Painted in blue with 6 lines and a dot, above which are blue concentric lines of varying widths, with an orange line c. 1.5 cm from the edge and a yellow line on the edge.
History note: Probably found in Orvieto. Collection of Signor Avvocato Marcioni & Cavaliere Capitano Lucatelli; purchased from Fenton, Cranbourne St., shortly after their sale at Sotheby's on 16-17 February, 1914, but not included in it.

This bowl, which probably had two handles, is likely to have been made in Orvieto, as found there, but might also have been imported from Deruta.
