Description

Tin-glazed earthenware painted in blue, green and red

Buff earthenware with strongly pinkish-white tin-glaze, painted in blue, green, and red. Circular with deep fluted sides, slightly wavy rim, standing on a high footring. Painted in the middle in blue with Juno riding in a chariot drawn by long-necked birds over clouds with the back view ofa man holding a stick. The exterior is decorated in polychrome with Chinese figures, and a man in European dress, in an oriental landscape with a bridge and a pavillion and the inscription ‘IC/1712’ beween two of the figures.
