Fritware painted in blue and black under a transparent white glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown, with carved black slip and blue paint under a transparent white glaze.
Shape: straight neck and plain rim are on top of a bulbous body with carination at the midpoint, sits on a low, narrow foot ring. A grooved strap handle, with small thumb rest is attached to the neck and body.
Exterior: on the neck a black band is incised with pseudo epigraphy. On the body a frieze of black dotted circular cartouche, incised with āSā shapes and vertical lines, alternate with blue vertical lines. Glaze runs over the body, forming droplets above the foot ring.
Interior: coated with glaze, otherwise undecorated.
