Description

Creamware dessert plate press-moulded with scrolls, basketwork, fruit and leaves.

Cream-coloured earthenware, press-moulded and lead-glazed. Circular with a scalloped edge, gently sloping rim, deep curved sides and flat centre, standing on a slight footring. In the middle there is a circular medallion with a rope edge, enclosing a triangular arrangement of rococo scrolls surrounded by tightly woven basketwork. Outside the medallion there are panels of trellis diaper and stripes surrounded by rococo scrolls, and fruit and leaves in relief. The rim is decorated with basketwork.
