Description

Fritware painted black under a turquoise glaze

Pinky buff fritware, probably wheel thrown, painted in black under a crazed turquoise glaze.
Shape: segmental bowl with flat base and upper section sloping inward toward a plain rim
Exterior: on the upper body, a pattern of scrolling vines is painted in black and covered with a turquoise glaze which runs unevenly over the surface. On the lower body a black concentric line is painted but partially obscured by thick glaze.
Interior: The turquoise glaze continues over the interior
