Factory: Unidentified Staffordshire factory
Red dry-bodied stoneware, thrown and decorated with engine-turning. The bowl has deep curved sides and stands on a footring. The shallow domed cover has a flange which fits inside the bowl, and a fluted cone-shaped knob. The bowl is decorated with horizontal wavy bands with six groups of five vertical lines at intervals. The cover has wavy concentric circles of different widths radiating from the knob.
