Description

Red dry-bodied stoneware, slip-cast, turned and decorated with mould-applied reliefs (sprigs). Cylindrical with two horizontal mouldings dividing the sides into two zones in each of which is a chrysanthemum spray, flanked on the upper zone by two snails, and on the lower by one snail and a small dancing man, known as a 'Merry Andrew'. The narrow area above the upper rib is undecorated. On one side the mug has a loop handle.
