Production: Unidentified Staffordshire Pottery
Red dry-boded stoneware with applied moulded relief decoration. The cylindrical pot has a small sloping spout, a rolled loop handle, and a slightly convex circular cover with a ball-shaped knob pierced by a ventilation hole. There are three holes in the wall behind the spout to emit the tea. One side is decorated with a bunch of five-petalled flowers with a leaf and flower on a stem extending upwards and on either side. On the other side is a landscape with three sheep grazing between two trees, and the sun overhead. The cover is decorated with three different applied scroll motifs.
