Fritware painted in black and blue under a clear glaze
Pinkish fritware, wheel thrown, painted in blue and black under a clear, crazed glaze
Shape: shallow hemispherical bowl sitting on a wide, low foot ring
Interior: the rim is painted black below a panel design which alternates been narrow wedges in blue or turquoise, outlined in black, or wider panels with one of three designs. These panels contain either a cartouche outlined in blue, containing black dots; a black arabesque; or a blue diagonal cross hatch with black dots that develops into a lotus blossom. Above the arabesque and dotted designs, a narrow horizontal frieze of roughly drawn black cartouches, containing dots and dashes, are separated by blue vertical lines. On the base, a blue rosette is outlined in black and contains a central turquoise dot.
Exterior: black paint on the rim continues on the exterior. On the neck, a narrow frieze of blue and black inverted āVā shapes and black dots is contained within black concentric lines. Radiating from the lower body, alternating pairs of blue or black lines are painted. Glaze covers the lower body unevenly and pools in places above the foot ring.
