Earthenware, coated in white slip painted in black under a turquoise glaze
Earthenware, wheel thrown, coated in a white slip painted in black under a turquoise pitted glaze
Shape: hemispherical bowl with plain rim and sitting on a foot ring.
Interior: decoration painted in black. On a section of the upper body, below a concentric band on the rim a curvilinear, dotted, cross hatched area is contained within two lines forming a ‘hillock’. Stemmed plants, whose larger leaves are filled with dots, sprout from this ‘hillock’ to occupy the interior surface of the bowl. Glaze covers surface unevenly, leaving small areas where vessel fabric is visible.
Exterior: rim is painted with a black concentric line from which black vertical lines radiate towards the lower body. Glaze covers the surface thinly, with the surface significantly pitted, to a point on the lower body. Below the glaze a thin white slip is visible covering the entire surface.
