Fritware coated in grey slip decorated with white slip, painted black, blue or turquoise
Buff fritware, wheel thrown, coated in grey slip decorated with thick white slip and painted in black, blue or turquoise under a clear crazed glaze.
Shape: pear shaped jar with a collared neck and strap handle on a low foot ring
Exterior: designs painted in thick white slip, outlined in black and dotted with blue or turquoise pigment. Lozenge shapes form a frieze on the neck that is separated from the body by the vessel collar. On the central body, a frieze of birds (probably bustards) and hares is surrounded by foliage, while on the lower body a concentric line defines a frieze of vertical of white or black lines Glaze runs over the lower body to a point just above the foot ring but also on the underside of foot ring.
Interior: devoid of decoration other than a thin clear glaze.
