Fritware, coated in a white slip painted blue and black under a clear glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown, coated in a powdery white slip painted in blue and black under a clear crazed glaze.
Shape: Segmental bowl with an angular lip and bead rim, sits on a low foot ring base.
Interior: rim is stripped with blue lines, while on the lip a frieze of blue cross-hatching is separated at regular intervals by black vertical lines containing blue dots. On the interior, lobbed cartouches are outlined in black and contain either a blue cross within a circle or a series of blue dots. The cartouches are painted against a background of blue scrolling lines.
Exterior: On the upper body a frieze of blue vertical lines are contained within two concentric lines. The glaze reaches a mid point on the body below which a powdery white slip is visible covering the remaining surface.
