Description

White stoneware press-moulded, with integral relief decoration, and salt-glazed. Circular with a scalloped edge, gently sloping rim, and curved well, standing on a very slight footring. In the middle is a circular medallion with a rope edge, enclosing a triangular arrangement of rococo scrolls surrounded by tightly woven basketwork. Outside the medallion there are panels of trellis work and stripes surrounded by rococo scrolls, and pears, melons, apples, and nuts and leaves in relief. The border is decorated with larger telliswork pierced by sixteen groups of three rectangular piercings.
