Greyish salt-glazed stoneware with moulded reliefs decorated in blue
Greyish-white stoneware, slab built, with integrally moulded reliefs, sponged or painted in cobalt-blue, and salt-glazed. The slabs are roughly made and the blue has been applied unevenly in a crude manner. The caddy is rectangular, and each side is decorated with a central white sun face, surrounded by blue v-shaped rays , and two blue downward pointing thin legs that resemble compass points. The blue rays are surrounded by three white stylised trees or flowers. Above is a blue winged cherub's head. In the corner of each panel is a blue shell. The top of the caddy has the same pattern as the sides, although the neck of the caddy takes the place of the central white face, and is coloured blue.
