Camel Teapot
Factory: Unidentified Staffordshire factory
White salt-glazed stoneware, slip cast in the form of a crouching camel
White salt-glazed stoneware, slip cast in the fom of a camel crouching on a shaped base, with on its back, a tall hexagornal erection secured by two girths. The camel's neck and head with open mouth forms the spout. The loop handle is formed of a flat scalloped band with impressed foliage and flowers. In the panels on the upper part there are Chinese figures and buildings. The domed hexagonal cover has raised lines between its panels, a narrow ribbed border, and a hexagonal slightly conical knob with waisted sides.
