Description

Buff earthenware, tin-glazed except for the base. Cylindrical with convex sides expanding slightly towards the rim; splayed foot.

Notes

History note: James Smith, Whitechapel, London. Record of donation or purchase, not found, 1981. It is possible that this pot was acquired by Dr Glaisher at the James Smith Sale among a box of fragments he recorded purchasing, and was bequeathed with the rest of his collection in 1928, rather than having been donated by an unknown person in 1901.
