Production: Unidentified Staffordshire Pottery
White salt-glazed stoneware figure of a man
Off-white stoneware, press moulded, with brown slip and salt glaze. The man is standing with his right arm at waist level, and his left at his chest. He wears a wig with a queue, a long robe decorated with geometric motifs down the back, and buttons at the front, and either long boots or stockings and shoes. His eyes have been touched with brown slip. In front of the figure there is a semi-circle of ground with incised striations. The underside is open.
