Maiolica bowl. Painted on the front in polychrome, in the centre with an eight-petalled flower superimposed on an eight-pointed star, surrounded by two panels of scale pattern and two panels of trellis diaper, separated by four narrower panels.
Buff earthenware, tin-glazed off-white overall. Painted in dark blue, orange, and a little green and yellow.
Shape 49. Circular with deep sloping sides and narrow, flat base. In the centre, an eight-petalled flower is superimposed on an orange and yellow eight-pointed star surrounded by eight green semi-circles. On the sides are short vertical blue strokes, and above, two panels of blue and orange scale pattern and two of trellis diaper, separated by narrower radial panels of blue serrated leaves and orange buds. Short slanting blue strokes encircle the rim. On the back, blue petals with blue and orange transverse stripes and dots radiate from the centre. The triangular spaces between the petals are dotted in blue.
