Seated Woman playing a Hurdy Gurdy

Salt-glazed stoneware painted in enamels
Off-white salt-glazed stoneware, press-moulded, and painted in green, yellow, pink and enamels . The woman is seated on a mound supported on a low circular base decorated with two sprays of yellow and pink flowers. She is facing the front and holds the hurdy-gurdy on her lap with both hands. She wears a green hat, a low-necked yellow bodice with pink bows on the ends of the sleeves, a green skirt, and pink shoes with yellow bows. Round her neck she has a pink flounce above a pleated fichu or chemise which fills the neckline of her bodice and has a four-petalled pink flower at centre front.
