Bowl. Hard-paste porcelain decorated underglaze with a mottled powder-blue ground and painted in famille verte enamels, and gilding. The steeply rounded sides resting on a high tapered foot are applied both inside and out with a blotchy dark blue glaze. The exterior is decorated with gilding, now almost completely worn away, with two fan-shaped vignettes enclosing landscape scenes, divided by two quatrefoil floral vignettes, set against chrysanthemum scrollwork; around the rim is a wan-diaper border reserved with four floral vignettes. The interior has barely discernable floral decoration round the sides and a star-shaped medallion at the centre enclosing a scene painted in famille verte enamels of a pheasant in flight above flowering tree peony with two blooms in iron-red and blue The base has two concentric circles in underglaze blue enclosing the mark.
