Fritware coated in a white slip painted in black and blue under a clear glaze
Buff fritware, probably wheel thrown, coated in a white slip and painted in blue and black under a clear glaze.
Shape: biconical bowl with plain rim, sits on a foot ring
Interior: the rim is painted blue under which a frieze of medallions is painted against a background of scrolling vegetation reserved in black. Within the medallions a stylised lotus flower is outlined in black against a blue background. On the lower body five inscriptions in Arabic script are painted in black. In the roundel two confronted figures are painted in blue and black, surrounded by dotted leaves and palmettes.
Exterior: the rim is painted black, while on the body a scrolling vine is adorned with stylised leaves and buds that are outlined in black and coloured with blue. The glaze covers the body to just above the foot ring.
