Yellow-glazed figure of Autumn, holding a sheaf of corn and a sickle.

Figure of Autumn from a set of seasons. Earthenware, moulded, and covered with thick yellow glaze with black speckles. The figure stands on an approximately circular mound on a shallow square base with a closed, concave base. She wears a long close-fitting dress with an overdress, split from the waist and falling away behind. She holds a sheaf of corn to her body in her left hand and grasps a sickle in her right hand. Her hair is dressed in a chignon with three loose strands falling onto her shoulders.
