Production: Unidentified Staffordshire factory (Probably)
Cream earthenware painted in blue, pale green and brownish-orange under bluish lead-glaze
Cream earthenware, press-moulded, and painted in blue, pale green and orange under slightly blue tinted lead-glaze. The underside is open and the interior of the sides of the base are glazed. The cock stands with its legs on either side of a rock or tree stump support. This is coloured pale green, and the cock is randomly dabbed with blue and orange.
History note: Miss Kingsland, dealer at West Croydon, from whom purchased for £3 on 13 May 1915 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher, FRS, Trinity College, Cambridge
