Description

Yellow-glazed earthenware printed onglaze in black. Circular with a narrow sloping rim, deep curved well, and flat centre. Decorated in the middle with a circular medallion enclosing a hunting scene with a stag being attacked by hounds, titled in the lowest part of the circle, 'La Resistance' in script with '8' below. On the rim, between wide black bands, there is a continuous stem of stylized flowers and foliage.

This dish was originally the eighth in a set of twelve. The proprietors of the Choisy-le-Roi factory between 1824 and 1836 were Valentin Paillart and Hippolyte Hautin.
