Circular hard-paste porcelain fish bowl, painted underglaze in blue and touched with brown. With deep sides, curving upwards and outwards from the base, contracting slightly below, and then widening at the rim. Painted with a bird perched in the branches of a flowering tree, a detached spray of leaves and an insect. With a chain border below the rim.
Four character Qangxi mark, but of 19th century date
Worn rim, hair crack, and discoloured brown in the base.
