Description

Fritware, moulded and incised under a turquoise glaze

Shape: carinated bowl with straight sided upper section and slightly everted rim, pointed at the terminus of moulded ribs. Sits on a foot ring base
Exterior: Ribbed columns, incised with horizontal lines (except one), separate four panels featuring central moulded bosses of a human face or teardrop motif containing palmette designs. Incised scrolling lines forming roughly drawn foliage patterns frame this moulded decoration. Glaze covers the surface to a point just below the carination, but with a limited number of pock marks
Interior: undecorated, except for glaze containing a fleck of blue at one point on the upper body
