Description

Maiolica pharmacy or storage jar, painted in polychrome with fruit and foliage.

Cream earthenware, tin-glazed on the exterior and rather thinly on the interior; rim and base unglazed. Painted in bright blue, green, yellow, orange, and manganese-brown. The sides are decorated with fruit and foliage and above and below there are borders of blue criss-crosses between horizontal bands.
