Fritware, carved under a turquoise glaze
Fritware, wheel thrown and moulded under a turquoise glaze
Shape: pear-shaped jar tapering towards a small foot ring with cylindrical neck and everted bead rim. A prominent ridge on the interior body marks the join between the wheel thrown lower section and the moulded upper section. Glaze runs unevenly over the lower body, terminating on the foot ring.
Exterior: moulded on the shoulder, a band of floriated calligraphic Kufic-style script.
Interior: covered with glaze, which is thicker on the neck
