Production: Unidentified Frechen pottery
Dark brown salt-glazed stoneware with an applied bearded face mask on the neck and a figure 4 incised on the front below it
Grey-buff stoneware, thrown, with an applied handle, moulded and applied decoration, and incised number, coated with a dark iron-brown wash, and salt-glazed. The jug has an ovoid body contracting at the top into a short cylindrical neck to which the small handle is attached. A bearded face mask s applied to the front of the neck, and below it on the front is an incised figure '4'.
