Cream earthenware storage jar and cover, with a crazed cream glaze. The base and the central cylinder of the cover are unglazed. Cylindrical but curving inwards at the top and rolling outwards at the mouth.
The domed cover has a cone shaped knob, and on the underside a central hollow cylinder
The interior of the jar is speckled with brown, and heavily crazed and discoloured at the bottom. There is a small hole in the base where a sample for TL testing has been removed (confirming dating). The underside of the cover is padded with what may be plastercine. The cover has discoloured to brown.
With an oval label, printed in black with a tower and 'Malcolm Collection', inscribed in blue black ink 'D.127'
