Maker: Unknown
Hard-paste porcelain water pot of glossy, eggshell quality, painted in enamel colours. The compressed ovoid body rests on a flat, slightly countersunk base and rises to a very short tapered rim encircling the wide mouth. The exterior is delicately painted with two flowering prunus branches, rising side by side from one spot near the base, overlapping each other and extending round the sides. The thorny boughs picked out in shaded tones of sepia dotted with opaque turquoise lichen. The flowers and buds are in varying tones of white, tinged with coral pink, with veined petals and stamen in yellow and pale blue.
Mark: Four character seal mark enamelled in blue with a double square: Jiao Wu An Zhi (made in the pavilion for the contemplation of one's failings)
