Wine pot and cover. Hard-paste porcelain painted in black, yellow, iron-red, turquoise, green, blue and aubergine enamels. The baluster body is of hexagonal section decorated on each of the six sides with a moulded petal-shaped panel in high relief pierced to reveal the biscuit body beneath. The panels are arranged in two groups of three respectively depicting pine, prunus and bamboo, the Three Friends, picked out in bright red, green and aubergine, reserved against the lustrous black ground. A moulded band of upright red and green lotus petals spring from a green-ground scroll border round the base. The shoulders are decorated with a green-ground lotus scroll. The loop handle is moulded in the form of a yellow fish with an aubergine head, set opposite the yellow hexagonal spout which springs from an aubergine dragon's head. The upright neck has ruyi-heads reserved against alternating fish-roe and stippled grounds. The hexagonal cover is pierced with prunus branches encircling the blue prunus flowerhead knop.
