Box and cover. Hard-paste porcelain painted in yellow, green, aubergine and iron-red enamels with details in black. Of square section with short straight sides the box rests on four low 'L'-shaped feet, one at each corner. Each side is decorated with a rectangular panel edged in a thin aubergine line outlined in black, enclosing trellis-diaper in yellow and green and centred with a single lotus flower in soft iron-red with green leaves and the stem outlined in black. The flat cover is decorated with a similar panel on top of a red lotus against yellow and green trellis-diaper within a thin yellow border; there is a ruyi-head in yellow, green and aubergine at each corner. The underside of the cover, the interior and the base are applied with a thin colourless glaze. The inner rims and bases of the feet are left unglazed.
