Large heavy stoneware bowl with slightly everted mouth rim edged in brass. The exterior wall is incised with bands, which encircle rim, and gouged vertical striations to foot rim. The banded cavetto is decorated with a meandering vine pattern and in the centre is a floral medallion.
The entire bowl is covered in a crackled sea green celadon glaze, which stops short of the the carved foot ring. Terracotta biscuit with lighter tone inside the pontil scar. Portion of the exterior unevenly fired.
