Description

Plate, maiolica, decorated with fruit and floral sprays.

Earthenware, tin-glazed overall. The glaze is thick and speckled with black. Painted in blue, sage-green, yellow, orange-red, and manganese-purple.
Circular with waved and cusped reeded edge, sloping rim, curved sides and flat centre.
In the centre there is an arrangement of fruits on leaves: a peach or plum, a lemon, a cherry and an almond. On the rim, four sprays of stylised flowers and foliage alternate with four butterflies.
