Description

Fragment of a dish or bowl rim. Buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides. Painted in blue, yellow, and orange.
Approximately triangular, curved fragment of rim and side.
From the pointed end upwards to the rim: a blue line, blue oblique strokes between two blue lines, blue and yellow petal shapes on a broad orange band with yellow petal shapes on a broad orange band with yellow dot-filled triangles above, blue oblique strokes between two blue lines, a blue line, an orange zig-zag line, a wide blue band with oblique darker blue strokes over it, and a yellow band on the edge. On the reverse, a series of blue Us.

History note: Probably found near the Duomo in Orvieto, where purchased by the donor
