Fragment of a bowl centre. Buff earthenware, tin-glazed on both sides, the reverse, pale greyish-white. Painted in greyish-blue, yellow, and brownish-orange. The narrow, concave foot, and part of the centre of the bowl.
A central medallion filled by a multi-petalled flower. Outside this is a greyish-blue band, and the ends of several small motifs, perhaps grotesques, on a white ground.
History note: One of a group of sherds, accompanied by a label, 'Mostly bought at Orvieto; some pieces, marked P on the back, from Perugia. The Orvieto pieces, with a few exceptions, were found in excavating foundations for houses near Cathedral.'
