Part of a bowl with a carinated rim and curved side. Pale red earthenware, lead-glazed on the exterior and tin-glazed on the interior, extending over onto the outside under the lead glaze for a short distance. Painted on the inside in blue and brownish-orange. Part of a border of blue stylised foliage on a wavy stem, with small brownish-orange strokes at intervals, perhaps representing buds.
History note: Probably found near the Duomo in Orvieto, where purchased by the donor, Robert Carr Bosanquet (1871-1935)
