Production: Unidentified Faenza pottery (Probably)
Fragment of a dish centre. Buff earthenware, tin-glazed pale blue on both sides (a berettino glaze). Painted in dark blue, yellow, pale brown and white. Approximately circular with slightly convex centre and irregularly chipped edge. A circular medallion containing a three-quarter length figure of St Dominic, holding a heart in his out-stretched left hand, and a cross and a lily in his right, against a dark blue ground, enclosed by a narrow blue band and a white band with short strokes projecting from it (resembling blanket stitch). On the reverse are the ends of yellow lines and blue squiggles radiating from the concave base.
